Another week already since I posted. So busy.
Club Rush. Intermurals. Meeting about TEFL/Spanish stuff. Tests beginning. Projects beginning. Laura, Sam, Josh visit from harding. Spending time with the roomies. Homework. My goodness, that only begins it. It's been pretty good - just busy.
Tuesday coming up is a big day - i find out if i go to costa rica or not.
Some exciting things: Luke and I are finally going to initiate the idea for changing the requirements for TEFL major...it definitely needs improved. So this week a representative is going to talk to the Vice President of Academic Affairs for us about it, so we are working on writing a letter/list of changes that need to be made.
One thing they don't tell you is that you still need to get a TEFL certificate (which requires a few extra classes that aren't offered at OC) before you can teach in a lot of pieces. So even with my major at OC, i wouldn't techinically be qualified to teach TEFL. dumb. Luke found this program where you can get that certificate - and you can go virtually anywhere in the world. There is one is Spain, so we are both thinking we would really love to do that. We could do it as soon as this coming summer. I think that would work out, so that once I graduate I am good to go, and will be able to teach virtually anywhere. It's like $3000 i think, but that's about what i was gonna pay for like 1 or 2 classes at OC for the summer. It's only 4 weeks, so short and sweet so I can still go home and see my family. Just a thought...i need to look into it more, but I think it would be a good thing to do, get some experience.
well that's all i can write for now. i have a huge test tomorrow. British Literature. 2 2 pg essays, and 3 other fairly long sections - all have to be done in 50 mintues. yikes...i have been studying since 2:30 pm...it's 10 pm and I don't feel virtually ready yet. I have a feeling it's going to be a late late late night. blech.
or probably a no sleep week considering the following:
2 big/hard tests, voting for new girls to get into club, induction for the new girls, preparing gifts/greek week ideas for the new girls, various research, various meetings, oh and i'm probably forgetting something.
oh well, that's the joy of college.
sometimes I think in Spanish, I can easily spend 6 or more hours in a bookstore, i eat peanut butter with a spoon, and I love God.
